Vanderhoof Tourism & Cultural Centre
Vanderhoof, BC
- Commercial

Project Highlight
The Vanderhoof Tourism and Cultural Centre presented an opportunity to develop structural solutions that could support a distinctive architectural vision while addressing challenging site conditions. The building incorporates heavy timber, wood frame, and concrete structural elements, requiring careful coordination to ensure both structural performance and architectural intent were fully realized.
The covered entry structure featured multi-angle sloped geometry and off-axis log columns, creating unique structural loading conditions that required thoughtful integration and creative problem-solving. Poor soil conditions further increased the complexity, demanding careful foundation design to ensure reliable support.
Drawing on our experience with hybrid structural systems, we developed efficient and cost-effective solutions that preserved the architectural expression while delivering a durable and constructible structure. Projects like this highlight our team’s ability to adapt, collaborate, and develop structural solutions that bring ambitious architectural designs to life.
