Complex design of heavy timber frame to preserve the
aesthetic integrity of the concept while solving cost constraints and lateral load path problems.

Project Highlight

While a smaller project in size, there were a series of challenges from both design and budgetary standpoints. This lead to us exploring a range of design solutions and material considerations including structural steel, conventional light wood frame and heavy timber options.

It was a highly collaborative design approach to accommodate all of the other sub-consultants requirements while maintaining the aesthetic design intent of the building.
