Abrasive Blasting & Industrial Coatings Facility

Project Highlight

This project involved the design of an industrial paint and abrasive blasting facility added to an existing TW Industrial site. Having previously designed the main shop building, our team was invited back to support the expansion and develop the structural design for the new coatings facility.

Industrial coating operations introduce strict safety and environmental requirements, particularly related to ventilation, extraction systems, and fire protection. The facility was designed to accommodate specialized equipment and operational demands while supporting safe and effective extraction of blasting and coating materials.

The project also presented site servicing challenges. Because the property was not connected to municipal services, additional coordination was required to support the building’s fire protection systems, including water supply for the sprinkler system and fire hydrant.

Through careful planning and coordination with the project team, we delivered a practical structural solution that supports the operational needs of this specialized industrial facility.
