Project Highlight

Although modest in footprint, the Memorial Park Mausoleum Expansion demanded a high level of structural precision and finish coordination. The addition incorporates concrete foundations with heavy timber and wood frame structural elements, designed to align seamlessly with the existing mausoleum structure.

A key challenge was matching the structural behavior of the original building, which had been designed under lower historical load requirements, while ensuring the new addition met current code standards. Careful detailing was required to maintain continuity between the two structures without introducing unintended stresses or differential performance. The constrained footprint further elevated the importance of controlling deflection and meeting strict serviceability criteria to support the building’s architectural and finish expectations.
