Project Highlight

Access Engineering served as Engineer of Record for the structural design of this five-storey, 77,000 sq. ft. hotel development in Prince George. Working closely with Chernoff Thompson Architects North and Ridgecrest Development Group, our team developed a structural system that balanced efficiency, constructability, and the operational requirements of a modern hospitality facility.

The building utilized a light wood-frame superstructure supported on conventional shallow concrete foundations. Shear walls and moment-resisting frames were incorporated to provide lateral stability across the multi-storey structure, while custom structural steel elements were integrated at the main floor to support key architectural and program features.

The project included several specialized building components, including a main-floor pool and associated service areas, which required careful coordination of structural framing and building systems.

The completed structure delivered a durable and efficient mid-rise hotel designed to support long-term performance while meeting the facility’s functional needs.
