Project Highlight

Access Engineering partnered with Studio B Architecture on the structural design of this three-storey regional office for the BC Government and Service Employees’ Union in downtown Prince George.

The building was designed to serve as both an administrative office and a regional meeting hub, incorporating two levels of office space above a large ground-level meeting hall.

The structural system incorporated a combination of structural steel, masonry, heavy timber, and concrete to support the architectural vision while providing the strength and flexibility required for the building’s varied program spaces. Lateral stability was achieved through a coordinated system of shear walls, braced frames, and moment-resisting frames supported on conventional concrete foundations.

Located along a prominent downtown corridor, the building was conceived as an anchor development within an area experiencing renewed investment and revitalization. The project received a Project Recognition Certificate for high quality design within the Prince George community.
