Public Works Building
Vanderhoof, BC
- Industrial

Project Highlight
This public works facility required a structural solution capable of supporting a pre-engineered steel superstructure while addressing challenging site conditions and coordinating multiple structural systems. Due to poor soil conditions, deep foundations using piles were required in place of conventional shallow footings, demanding careful design of grade beams, pile caps, and load transfer elements to support the structure.
Our team played a critical role in defining the climatic loads and structural design criteria for the pre-engineered steel building supplier, ensuring the superstructure was properly designed for site-specific conditions. Drawing on our expertise in concrete and steel design, we developed the foundation system, anchor rod design, and interface components needed to integrate the pre-engineered building with the site-built structural elements.
Through close coordination with the supplier and project team, we ensured all structural interfaces were fully resolved, resulting in a durable and constructible facility that supports the District’s operational needs.
